No1. Africa badgirl Tiwa Savage, a well-known Nigerian singer, narrowly escaped being kidnapped on Thursday in Lagos State.
Her management team confirmed the incident through a statement on her Instagram page on Friday.
According to the statement, the attempted kidnappers have been apprehended and are currently under investigation at Alagbon Police Station, Ikoyi.
The statement also reassured fans that Tiwa Savage and her family are safe.
However, a self-acclaimed investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, alleged that the singer’s new driver was behind the kidnap attempt and worked with other individuals to carry out the crime.
In a post shared on her Instagram page, Olunloyo claimed that the kidnappers followed the singer for several days before being caught and handed over to the police.
She warned other celebrities to be cautious of their domestic staff.
In response to the incident, Tiwa Savage’s management released a statement on her Instagram page, confirming that the singer had indeed narrowly escaped an attempted kidnap.
They disclosed that some suspects had been apprehended and were currently being held for investigation at Alagbon Police Station in Ikoyi, Lagos.
