In the just-concluded gubernatorial election in Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won his polling unit with a margin of five votes over his closest rival, Ladi Adebutu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Abiodun is seeking re-election, while Adebutu is also an indigene of Iperu in Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State.
At the end of the voting exercise, Governor Abiodun scored 147 votes, while Adebutu came in second with 145 votes. This result shows a keenly contested election between the two candidates.
