United States-based Nigerian hip-hop artist, Onome Onokohwomo, popularly known as Young6ix, has expressed his disappointment with singer Davido for not including him in the list of the first generation of youngsters who achieved stardom in the Nigerian music industry.

In a recent statement, Davido asserted that he and Wizkid were the first young Nigerian artists to attain stardom. He also mentioned his excitement in seeing new artists such as Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun, and Asake dominating the music industry.

Responding to Davido’s comments through a video message shared on social media, Young6ix expressed his respect and love for Davido. However, he disagreed with the exclusion of himself, Olamide, and Wizkid from the narrative. Young6ix stated that Wizkid, Olamide, and himself were the young artists of that era who achieved fame before Davido. He questioned why he was being overlooked and excluded from the legacy.

Young6ix’s message reflects his disappointment at not being acknowledged as part of the first generation of successful young artists in the Nigerian music industry, as claimed by Davido.
