butcher stabs wife to death over domestic dispute in Delta State
Yesterday evening in Warri, Delta State, a woman was reportedly stabbed to death by her husband, who works as a butcher. The man had returned from the market and attempted to scoop hot water from the fire to bathe, but his wife refused and asked him not to touch the gas. She claimed that he never gave them money for upkeep or to fill the gas at home. The husband ignored his wife’s plea and went straight to the gas to scoop the hot water. This led to an argument that quickly escalated into a physical fight. During the scuffle, the wife grabbed a knife and attempted to stab her husband, but he overpowered her, took the knife, and used it to stab her repeatedly until she collapsed.
At that point, the suspect rushed his wife to a private hospital for treatment where he lied that she was involved in a ghastly accident.
However, his daughter later reported the matter to the police, and the suspect was immediately arrested. The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident when contacted by our correspondent in Warri.
This is a tragic incident that highlights the dangers of domestic disputes and the need for individuals to seek peaceful ways to resolve conflicts within their homes.
